• Height: Used to estimate stride length and step-based distance calculations
• Gender: Used to apply appropriate metabolic rate formulas for calorie estimation

Activity & Walking Data

• GPS Location Data: Used in real time to track your walking routes, distance, and pace — processed on-device only and never transmitted
• Step Count & Distance: Walking metrics tracked during your sessions
• Calorie Estimates: Calculated locally based on your profile and activity data
• Walk History & Logs: Records of past walking sessions stored on your device
• Daily Goals & Preferences: Your personal walking targets and app settings

2. How We Collect Information

All data collection is transparent, voluntary, and under your direct control:

• Personal profile data (age, weight, height, gender) is entered manually by you during initial setup or settings
• GPS location is accessed only while you actively use the walking tracking feature and requires your explicit permission
• Walk sessions are recorded only when you start a session within the app
• App settings and preferences are saved based on your choices within the interface

The app does not collect any information automatically in the background or without your knowledge. You are always aware of what data is being used and when.

3. How We Use Your Information

The data you provide is used solely to deliver WalkPal's core functionality. Specifically:

• Calorie Calculation: Your age, weight, height, and gender are combined with walking activity data to estimate calories burned during each session
• Route & Distance Tracking: GPS data is used in real time to map your walk, measure distance traveled, and calculate pace
• Progress Monitoring: Walk history is stored locally so you can review past sessions and track improvement over time
• Goal Management: Your personal walking goals and daily targets are saved to help you stay on track
• App Personalization: Your settings and preferences are remembered to provide a consistent experience

Your data is never used for advertising, profiling, marketing, analytics, research, or any purpose other than providing you with walking tracking functionality.

4. Data Storage and Security

Local Storage Only

All data — including your personal profile, GPS-derived walk logs, and calorie records — is stored exclusively on your iPhone. We do not transmit, upload, sync, or store any of your information on external servers, cloud platforms, or databases of any kind. This means:

• Your data never leaves your device
• You maintain complete and exclusive ownership of your information
• No internet connection is required to use core app features
• No one — including us — can access your data
• Your privacy is protected by design, not just policy

Data Protection

We apply security best practices to safeguard your locally stored data:

• Secure on-device storage using iOS data protection frameworks
• No external network communications from the app
• No third-party SDKs or integrations with access to your data
• Security improvements delivered through regular app updates

5. No Registration Required

WalkPal does not require any user registration, account creation, or login. This means:

• No email address or identifying personal information is collected at any point
• No passwords to create or manage
• No user accounts that could be compromised or breached
• You can begin using the app immediately after installation and setup

This design ensures maximum privacy from the very first use.

6. Data Retention

All your data remains on your device for as long as you keep the app installed. You have full control over what is retained:

• Delete individual walk sessions or logs at any time from within the app
• Update or remove your personal profile data (age, weight, height, gender) at any time through settings
• Clear all app data through your device's iOS settings
• Uninstalling the app permanently and irreversibly removes all stored data

Once data is deleted or the app is uninstalled, it cannot be recovered by us or by anyone else, as it was never stored outside your device.

7. Data Sharing and Third Parties

Zero Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, trade, or transfer any of your data — including personal profile information, GPS data, or walk history — to any third party under any circumstances whatsoever.

No Third-Party Services

WalkPal operates fully independently with no third-party integrations of any kind:

• No analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel)
• No advertising or ad-targeting networks
• No crash reporting or monitoring services
• No cloud storage or synchronization services
• No social media integrations or login providers
• No mapping or location service APIs that transmit your data externally
• No external SDKs embedded in the app for any purpose

8. Advertising

WalkPal is completely ad-free. We do not display advertisements of any kind, which means:

• No advertising networks have access to your data
• No tracking pixels, cookies, or ad identifiers are used
• Your walking and personal data are never used for ad personalization
• Your experience is uninterrupted and free from commercial content

9. Location Permissions

WalkPal requests access to your device's GPS location to enable walk tracking. Here is exactly how this permission works:

• When Required: Location access is requested only when you initiate a walk session
• "While Using App" Only: We request the minimum necessary location permission — the app does not track your location in the background when not in use
• On-Device Processing: GPS coordinates are processed locally on your device and are never transmitted to us or any third party
• Your Control: You can revoke location permission at any time through iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → WalkPal. Note that revoking this permission will disable active walk tracking features

10. Your Rights and Choices

You maintain complete and exclusive control over all your data within WalkPal:

• View Your Data: Access your full walk history, calorie records, and profile at any time within the app
• Edit Information: Update your personal profile (age, weight, height, gender) or modify logged sessions at any time
• Delete Data: Remove individual entries, specific sessions, or all data entirely
• Revoke Location Access: Disable GPS permission at any time through iOS settings
• Export / Backup: Your data is included in standard iOS device backups through iCloud or iTunes

Because all data is stored locally on your device, you do not need to submit requests to us to access, correct, or delete your information — you already have direct and complete control.

11. Children's Privacy

WalkPal can be used by individuals of all ages. Since no personal information is transmitted from the device, the app presents minimal inherent privacy risks. However:

• Parents and guardians should supervise children's use of the app and review the personal data entered during setup
• Minors should consult a healthcare professional before using calorie or activity data for dietary decisions
• WalkPal is a fitness tracking tool and does not constitute medical advice

12. Data Breaches

Because all data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to any server or external system, the risk of a data breach through WalkPal is virtually zero. We have:

• No servers that could be compromised
• No databases that could be breached
• No network communications that could be intercepted
• No cloud storage that could be accessed by unauthorized parties

The security of your data depends primarily on the security of your personal device.

13. International Users

WalkPal can be used anywhere in the world. Because all data remains on your device:

• No international data transfers take place
• GDPR, CCPA, and similar regional privacy regulations are inherently respected by design
• Your data never crosses borders or jurisdictions
• Regional privacy protections are upheld automatically

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the app or applicable legal requirements. When we do:
